Leisure Activities

For guests looking for something a little more active, Mazamet & its surrounds offer number activities that we can either pre-book or arrange for you on your arrival at La Villa, these are just a taste of what is on offer on our doorstep:

Cycle Hire - take advantage of the newly opened cycle path that commences in Mazamet for 85km; cycle hire starts from just 18 € a day with the bikes being delivered to La Villa for you!

Downhill Biking - a great activity that takes you speeding down through the forests of the Montagne Noire on specially adapted bikes

Golf - Mazamet's "La Barouge" golf club is just 5 km from La Villa and offers a fairly challenging 18 holes with excellent maintained greens & fairways. The backdrop of the Montgane Noire is just stunning and we can arrange tee times for you and advise of course closures (for local competitions)

Horse Riding - take a trek for a few hours, or half a day, through the stunning countryside just north of Mazamet with a local riding school. Kayaking – In July & August, one of the local canoe clubs offers half or full day escorted on a beautiful stretch on the river "Agout" from the picturesque village of Burlats (just outside of Castres)

Mountain Walking - commencing from the Lac de Montagne, just 10 mins south of Mazamet, are a number of self-guided walks that range from 5km to 55km distance. For a group, we can organise a fully escorted walk with a qualified mountaineer if you wanted something slightly more challenging!

Water Park - 15 mins from Mazamet, in the town of Castres, is the leisure complex of L'Aricpel http://www.larchipel.fr which has indoor & outdoor pools, water slides, ice skating rink and a 9 hole golf course!

Wine Tasting - from the information to the formal, a wine tasting visit can be arranged with local vine yards. Many operate on a turn up and taste basis, whilst others you need to pre-book and offer a gourmet lunch alongside tasting of their wines.
