Hello and welcome to the 2023 season of La Villa de Mazamet!

Your hosts Geoffrey and Janice welcome you at la Villa de Mazamet for the new 2023 season

After a beautiful and fruitful winter vacation between the Paris region, Canada, Malaysia and maintenance work on the Villa, we reopened for the season on Friday, April 7th. This first Easter opening weekend was a great success, and we now wanted to take the time to share the key changes that await you at Villa de Mazamet this new 2023 season.

Four Rooms

We have decided to downsize from five to four rooms to provide a more exclusive and intimate experience. We now offer two Superior rooms and two Balcony rooms, all located on the first floor, each with a breathtaking view of the Black Mountain or our beautiful garden. The rooms have been carefully renovated (paint, flooring, faucets) to provide maximum comfort and relaxation.

We have also undertaken work on the main façade (south) with the installation of new windows to improve the acoustic and thermal insulation. This will allow you to enjoy a more pleasant atmosphere in our rooms.

With one fewer room, our calendar fills up fast, so think about booking your stay now!

N.B. For guests who wish to privatize La Villa, additional rooms are available to accommodate larger groups – contact us for more information.

Table d’hôtes

In the new 2023 season, we will now serve our table d’hôtes exclusively on Friday and Saturday evenings. You can enjoy a menu consisting of a starter, main course, cheese and dessert for €39.50 per person. Janice has of course added a few new items to the menu to offer you an exceptional culinary experience. You will be able to enjoy a modern cuisine, that blends flavors  across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, prepared with fresh and quality ingredients.

Our wine list has been updated, and we have now added a prestigious section to the red wines on offer, based on your feedback. The new list has been designed to offer you a selection that will satisfy all tastes and budgets. We have chosen local and regional wines to promote the exceptional terroir and the know-how of the wine makers of the South West. Geoffrey will be happy to recommend wines that will perfectly match your dishes.

What to do in Mazamet?

The tourism opportunities on offer are growing in Mazamet and its surroundings. The famous Passerelle de Mazamet recently had a little sister: the Via Ferrata. The 1300m long protected climbing course offers thrill seekers four zip lines, including a 200m long one called “Pic de Nore”, eight beams and monkey bridges. Information and online reservations can be found on the website of the Castres Mazamet tourist office.

For cycling enthusiasts, the Bédarieux-Béziers cycling route is an extension of the Voie Verte du Haut-Languedoc – Passa Païs, and allows you to go from Bédarieux (altitude of 199m) to Béziers and the Orb, near the sea (altitude close to zero), by first crossing a ridge above Bédarieux (pass at an altitude of 395m).

These roads are blessed with little traffic, in the middle of famous vineyards (Faugères), offering magnificent landscapes of rolling hills. Unfortunately, the Mazamet – Castres section is not likely to be ready for this year.

We invite you to consult our blog to learn more about these exciting activities.

What hasn’t changed

However, some things haven’t changed at Villa de Mazamet. First of all, our room rates remain unchanged, despite the constant increase of costs in … everything! We want to continue to offer you the highest quality accommodations at an affordable price. Thus, our Superior rooms and Balcony rooms will remain at 140€ and 160€ respectively (including breakfast) when booking directly with us, with a 15% discount per night starting from the 3rd night. And of course, you will still be able to enjoy the swimming pool, and the dinners al fresco, Le Petit Spa and the massages by Pierre, the library and the sitting lounges. But most importantly, our warm welcome when you walk through the doors. We look forward to seeing you at La Villa de Mazamet in the 2023 season!

Thank you for placing your trust in us. See you soon!
