What are the differences between the room types?

How many people can each room accommodate?

Each room can have either single or double occupancy. We are not able to provide additional beds in the guestrooms.

Do you accept children?

We welcome children over the age of 14 years old who will be required to occupy their own bedroom.

Is there a minimum length of stay?

Yes, of two nights during peak weekends in July and August.

Do you offer exclusive use of La Villa?

Yes, La Villa is available throughout our season for exclusive (private) use for up to 14 guests – exclusive use means that only you and your guests will have access to La Villa during your reserved period. If you would like to enquire about exclusive use, please use our contact form.

Do you accept pets?

With the exception of assistance dogs, we do not accept any pets or other animals.

Do you have air conditioning?

Yes, all our guest bedrooms have air conditioning and heating.

Do I have to pay a City Tax?

Yes, a 0.70€ city tax per person per night is due.

Can we do laundry?

We do not offer a self-service laundry, but are happy to launder a mixed bag of laundry for 20€. The items are returned un-pressed. An iron, a board and a laundry bag are provided in each bedroom.

Is the swimming pool heated?

Our pool is heated by the sun! Temperatures range between 20 and 25 degrees in the summer.

What other facilities are there at La Villa de Mazamet?

In addition to the pool and gardens, inside La Villa we have two guest lounges with TV and board games, a small library, over 250 DVD movies, table d’hôtes restaurant and Le Petit Spa with a sauna, jacuzzi and massages.

Is WiFi available?

Yes, free WiFi is available throughout La Villa. A password will be provided upon check-in.

Can we have dinner at La Villa de Mazamet?

Yes, we offer a four-course table d’hôtes menu every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm, and grazing sharing platters on other evenings. We kindly ask that you give us a minimum 24 hour notice so that we can organize our shopping for fresh produce.

What do you mean by a table d’hôtes menu?

Table d’hôtes is a fixed menu without choice. Our menu consists of four courses: starter, main, cheese selection & dessert – you may see our sample menus here. The price of the menu is 36.50€. Wines and other beverages are charged separately.

Can we have lunch at La Villa de Mazamet?

From 1pm until 3pm daily, we offer a “Poolside Panini” set. For those who prefer a more substantial lunch, we are happy to recommend places to eat on your day out or within walking distance of La Villa.

Do you cater for special diets?

In most cases, yes. We ask you in advance if you have any specific allergies or dislikes.

Due to the nature of serving a single table d’hôte menu, we are sorry that we are unable to cater for guests with a vegan or strict no-dairy diet. Please also note that that whilst we cater for guests with nut and other food allergies/intolerances; nuts, wheat, lactose and other potential allergens are regularly used in our kitchen and served on the breakfast buffet.

Can we consume our own food & drink?

La Villa de Mazamet is a full-service B&B with an extensive reasonably-priced drinks and wine list, available throughout the day. As such, we do not permit the consumption of items not purchased from us in the public areas nor the garden. We also do not permit eating of cooked/hot food in the bedrooms.

Are there places to eat within walking distance of La Villa?

Yes, there are a selection of restaurants that we can suggest on nights you do not choose to eat at La Villa. Commonly, restaurants open for lunch from noon until 2pm and from 7pm – 9.30pm for dinner.

Do you offer smoking rooms?

No. La Villa is a complete smoking-free environment which includes all of the interior guest rooms, balconies and common areas. Guests who wish to smoke are requested to do so in the gardens and to stay mindful of other clients.


How may I check availability and make a booking?

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We require a 25% deposit to confirm your reservation. When you make a reservation on our website, the payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard or American Express. In case of a booking over the phone or email, you will be sent a payment link to process the payment online, again by Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

What is your cancellation policy when reserving directly?

If you cancel your reservation up to 30 days prior to arrival your deposit will be refunded. Within 30 days, your deposit will not be refunded, unless we are able to resell the room for an equal amount. If you cancel your reservation within 7 days of your arrival, we reserve the right to charge a further 25% of the total cost of your stay to your credit card, unless we are able to resell the reserved bedroom for an equal or greater value.

If you checkout part way through your stay, the remaining nights will be charged in full; if we are able to re-sell the room, for nights cancelled, a refund will be made . A “no-show” is regarded as a failure to arrive before 11pm, without notification, on the date reserved whereupon we reserve the right to charge your credit card for the full duration of your stay.

It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance in place to cover the eventuality of the costs incurred by their cancellation. We are happy to supply written evidence of your reservation and any deposits made should these be requested by your insurance provider.

Bookings Made Via Third Party Websites

If you make your reservation via a third-party website (, Expedia, etc.) a 50% non-refundable deposit will be charged. The balance will be charged 3 days prior to arrival. For reservations made within 3 days of arrival through such websites, the full cost of the reservation is charged and is non-refundable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Union Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, we can supply a bespoke gift certificate for any special occasion and either mail the certificate to you or the recipient directly. For more information, please use our contact form.


Where is La Villa located?

La Villa is located just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Mazamet, a traditional market town in the Department of the Tarn (region of the Occitanie). Mazamet is located within 2 hours of five international airports and equal distance between the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Albi (north) and Carcassonne (south). Do you have parking?

La Villa de Mazamet is located in a quiet residential area with free on-street parking directly outside of our main gates. We do not provide parking on the premises but are happy to store items (like boxes of wine & golf clubs) in our garage during your stay. Details of parking can be found here (pdf).

Do I need to hire a car?

Whist you can reach La Villa by Train (from Toulouse) or pre-arranged taxi from Carcassonne, we do advise car hire to make the most of your break to get out & about to explore the area around Mazamet.

If you are coming for a short break and do not want to hire a car, transport from the airport can be arranged, as well as a car and driver for day trips.

Is La Villa de Mazamet suitable for those with mobility issues?

As there are steps from the garden into the house and stairs to all bedrooms, La Villa de Mazamet is not suitable for those with reduced mobility or a disability that prevents using stairs.

What time may we arrive?

The earliest time of arrival is 4pm. If possible, we ask guests to arrive between 4pm and 7pm. If you travel plans dictate a later arrival, please let us know in advance (as we will be looking after dinner guests after this time and want to ensure we can settle you in and offer you a complimentary welcome drink).

Why are we not able to arrive before 4pm?

To ensure that we are able to run La Villa to a high standard, with a personalized service, we need to have some down-time ourselves too in the early afternoon. We want to be able to welcome guests, show you around, offer a complimentary drink and answer your questions when you arrive with us – so we ask guests to please respect our 4pm (onwards) arrival time.

What is the latest time we may depart?

Departure time is by 11am.
