What’s new & tasty at La Villa 2019?

la villa sharing platters

Taking inspiration from our travels this past winter in Spain, Portugal and South America – we decided to do things a little different at La Villa this season when it comes to dining……

At breakfast time, in addition to our continental buffet with many homemade treats… we have introduced three ‘Breakfast Bowls’. Made to order, we have berries, Greek yoghurt & toasted granola; bircher muesli with banana, honey & toasted almond flakes; and chia pudding with coconut milk, fresh mango & toasted coconut. Which will you choose?

Breakfast at La Villa is included in our room rate and served between 8am-9.30am daily.

In the afternoon, from 1-4pm, guests can now order a freshly made panini to enjoy poolside. A choice of tasting fillings including our “3 C’s” panini of Chicken Chorizo & Comté…. or grilled vegetable, pesto & mozzarella. Served with hand made potato crisps, plus a glass of wine or beer…..just enough to tide you over until dinner.

Apéros starts at 6.30pm each evening and are served until 7.45pm Enjoy your favourite apéritif in the lounge or garden, or perhaps choose from our gin list with 15 gins from around the world? Apéros are served with complimentary nibbles and can be enjoyed whether you are dining at La Villa or popping out to one of our local eateries that evening.

Monday-Thursday evenings guests can now enjoy one of our delicious new Mediterranean sharing platters which have become and instant hit since we started serving them at Easter. The platters, served at your chosen time between 7pm and 8.30pm in either the restaurant or poolside, can be ordered at breakfast time for that evening.  Freshly prepared, with a section of cheeses, charcuterie and made homemade goodies form frittata to focaccia, the platters are a prefect way to dine & relax after a day’s sightseeing (or lazy afternoon by the pool).

We have a recipe in this month’s E-newsletter for our take on the Spanish ‘patatas bravas‘ which we are serving on the platters.  Great as both a warming winter dish or, as we do, served cold with tapas.

… then Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings we serve our four-course tables d’hôtes dinner at 8pm. Fresh, local & seasonal ingredients are sourced from the local market & suppliers to create a different menu each evening.
